On the cusp of the New Year I sit and ponder.  This isn’t just one of your run-of-the-mill New Years, this is the beginning of a new decade!  There is always so much potential for new things as we start a new year.  We crave new challenges, give ourselves new goals, and have the courage to try new things.  But it seems to me a new decade is truly an amazing opportunity to reflect back on the good and bad of the previous “season” of our life and look forward with new hope for all that is in store!  A decade is a long time.  Who will we become in the next 10 years?  Is this the decade to make a difference in the world and in the very lives around us?  A new decade has incredible potential!

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV)

and lean not on your own understanding;

6 in all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make your paths straight.

I guess you would say I like to encourage people. It’s one of the things I do best. I once heard people can actually have a ministry of encouragement and even though I’m not in the “ministry,” encouraging the people around me has always been important. I hope this blog will be an encouragement to you. Read More→
